The PATA Travel Mart 2025 has begun in Bangkok, marking a major milestone in the Asia Pacific tourism sector. Running from August 26-28 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, this three-day event anticipates to bring together over 1000 delegates from more than 60 destinations globally, including representatives from Thailand, India, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore and Vietnam.

PATA Travel Mart 2025 is designed to foster unparalleled business-to-business networking opportunities within the travel industry. The event is expected to host professionals from more than 500 organisations, providing a platform for industry leaders to forge meaningful connections, collaborate on new initiatives, and drive growth across the tourism sector.

A Comprehensive Programme of Networking and Learning

The event features more than just the core B2B Travel Mart. Attendees will also benefit from a diverse set of activities designed to enhance both business engagement and industry knowledge. The PATA Knowledge Forum, running concurrently with the first day of the event, will focus on the theme “Designing Meaningful Tourism for a Changing World.” This full-day conference will include presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions on key tourism trends such as emerging markets, travel technology, inclusivity, and the role of young professionals in the industry.

One of the key highlights of the forum will be the official introduction of Sarawak, Malaysia, as the host destination for PATA Travel Mart 2026. Sharzede Datu Haji Askor, CEO of Sarawak Tourism Board, will take the stage to present the region’s attractions and initiatives.

As PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid stated, “PATA Travel Mart is designed to bring together the heart of the Asia Pacific tourism industry, but it is only through the united efforts of industry leaders from both the private and public sectors that meaningful connections can be created—connections that inspire growth and collaboration among buyers, exhibitors, and all participants.”

Distinguished Speakers and Influential Participants

The PATA Knowledge Forum will feature several distinguished speakers from across the tourism and travel sectors, including prominent figures like Alex Rayner (Executive Board Member, PATA), Chiranan Kunpalin (Senior Client Partnerships Lead, Google Thailand), and Jason Wang (COO, Global Tourism Economy Forum). They will share insights on the latest innovations in tourism, sustainability practices, and the changing dynamics of the travel industry in the face of global challenges.

“These sessions are essential for anyone looking to understand where the tourism industry is heading,” said Hamid. “It’s a chance to hear directly from the thought leaders who are shaping the future of travel and tourism.”

PATA 75th Anniversary: From Vision to Legacy

In addition to the bustling business activities, the PATA Travel Mart 2025 also marks the start of the association’s 75th anniversary celebrations. The theme “From Vision to Legacy” reflects the significant impact PATA has had on the development of responsible and sustainable tourism across the Asia Pacific region. The anniversary celebrations will include an interactive digital archive featuring historical photos from PATA’s past, inviting members and partners to contribute memories and identify key moments captured in these photos.

The event will conclude with the prestigious PATA Gold Awards 2025 Gala Dinner, sponsored by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO). This black-tie event will recognize the outstanding achievements of tourism professionals and organisations across two key categories: Marketing and Sustainability & Social Responsibility. Twenty award winners will be honoured for their significant contributions to the industry.

Programme Key Highlights

Prior to the official opening of the Mart, the PATA Youth Symposium 2025 will take place at Srinakharinwirot University on August 25, offering a platform for young tourism professionals to engage with industry leaders and discuss the future of tourism. Later that afternoon, the PATA Executive Board Meeting will convene, followed by the full-day PATA Board Meeting on August 26.

On the second day, August 27, the official opening ceremony will be followed by a VIP tour of the exhibition floor, providing delegates with an exclusive preview of the business and networking opportunities on offer. Trade visitors will also have the chance to attend the Mart on the final day, participating in a variety of activities designed to foster business growth and collaboration.

Networking and Future Trends in Tourism

Throughout the event, business and open hall sessions will allow buyers and sellers to engage in meaningful dialogue, exploring new partnerships, and sharing best practices. Topics on the table will include the growing influence of travel technology, shifting consumer behaviors, and the growing importance of sustainable and socially responsible travel.

PATA Travel Mart 2025 is a prime opportunity for businesses across the tourism sector to not only showcase their offerings but also to gain invaluable insights into the future of travel and tourism.
